The HSE/DOT Specialist is responsible for assisting with the implementation and documentation of HSE and DOT policy, program, and procedure.

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Safety and Compliance:

  • Conduct regular risk assessments for operational processes, identifying potential HSE and DOT issues, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Perform pre-startup safety reviews (TSSR) for new pad startups and risk assessments for new processes and equipment.
  • Conduct wellsite visits and truck inspections weekly.
  • Lead journey management efforts by reviewing routes for new wellsites, identifying hazards, and implementing necessary safety signage for drivers.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and non-compliance issues, producing detailed reports and action plans to prevent future occurrences.
  • Participate in emergency response planning, drills, and exercises as required by customers.
  • Perform general facility inspections on a monthly basis, ensuring all safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, first aid kits, eye wash stations) is in compliance.

 

Training:

  • Conduct new hire orientation for the region including Smith and PEC training, Luma modules, and system overviews (phone apps, etc.).
  • Issue and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) for employees.
  • Assist with trainee rides from lodging locations if necessary.

 

Qualifications:

 

·     Bachelor's degree, Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or related fields preferred.  

·     1– 3 years of relevant work experience in the oil and gas industry preferred.

·     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

·     Working knowledge of safety requirements, including OSHA and DOT regulations, preferred.

·     Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving work environment.

·     Willingness to travel to various work sites and locations as needed.

·     Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
