The Supervisor, Fleet is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of the company’s tractor and trailer assets. This position ensures that all vehicles are properly maintained, comply with local, state, and federal regulations, and meet company operating standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Fleet Operations and Maintenance
· Maintain accurate records of all tractor and trailer asset statuses, including those down for maintenance, issued to drivers, and awaiting cleaning.
· Ensure all tractors and trailers leaving the Odessa Yard are DOT and FMCSA compliant and meet company operating standards.
· Collaborate closely with maintenance teams to ensure the proper upkeep of all vehicles and equipment.
Scheduling and Task Assignment
· Plan and task the Yard Technicians and Tractor Cleaning team members to prepare tractors and trailers for drivers.
· Partner with Dispatch management to assign and determine non-load work for drivers and submit tasks accordingly to payroll.
Training and Compliance
· Assist with new hire driver yard training during orientation week.
· Collaborate with other field leaders, corporate executives, and functional teams such as HR and HSE to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of company-wide goals.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
· Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the trucking or transportation industry, with a proven track record of managing complex operations.
· In-depth knowledge of trucking operations, industry regulations, and best practices.
· Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees, customers, and stakeholders at all levels.
· Strong problem-solving mindset with a data-driven and results-oriented approach.
· Proficiency in using relevant software and technology tools for operational management.
· Willingness to travel to various work sites and locations as needed.
· Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
